New Delhi: Ever since she made her Bollywood debut in the action-drama film Dabangg alongside Salman Khan in 2010, Sonakshi Sinha has been in the limelight – be it for her impeccable acting skills or her tremendous weight loss. We can’t deny the fact that Sonakshi’s drastic fat-to-fit transformation has given us some serious fitness goals. From plump kid to a hot diva, the actress has now become a body-positive fitness icon for many people, especially those struggling with weight issues. Sonakshi, who weighed around 90 kilos when she began her weight loss journey, shed almost 30 kg before entering Bollywood.

Perhaps, shedding those extra pounds was not easy for Sonakshi, who loved to gorge on junk food and hated exercise. The versatile actress confessed that if it were not her co-star Salman Khan, she would have never done it. Sonakshi also said that she started taking it seriously about losing weight only after Salman told her to do so. With a combination of proper diet and vigorous exercise regime, the actress was able to get rid of her extra weight and stay in shape, silencing her critics by flaunting a well-toned body. Sonakshi Sinha’s weight loss diet
Giving up all those goodies wasn’t that easy for the once overweight actress, who is a foodie herself. However, she started eating healthy and kept herself well-hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water. To support her strenuous workout, she was also put on a high-protein, low-carb diet. As she worked hard to get that flat tummy, she also followed another diet rule – eating mall meals every 2 hours to boost her metabolism and avoiding carbs after 6 pm. She also eats an early dinner.

Here’s what Sonakshi’s diet chart looks like:

Early morning: 1 glass of warm water with honey and lemon juice.
Breakfast: Cereal and low-fat milk with 1 whole wheat toast.
Mid-morning: Some dry fruits and 1 cup of green tea.
Lunch: Homemade roti and sabzi with salad.
Evening: 1 cup of green tea or a bowl of fruits.
Dinner: Dal, sabzi (mixed vegetables), a piece of chicken or grilled fish. No carbs after 6:00 p.m.

The once overweighed actress revealed that she was the kind of person who’s allergic to the gym. However, she boosted her willpower and worked hard to burn more calories to lose weight. To burn fat, build lean stamina and lean muscle, Sonakshi worked with her trainer Namrata Purohit, who helped shed the pounds effectively. Her fitness regimen consists of –

Cardio exercises
Functional and weight training
Swimming or playing tennis

She also hits the gym twice a day and does hot yoga thrice a week. The actress known for her happy-go-lucky attitude now keeps herself fit at all times.
