Salman Khan on turning down web series: I don’t like all the rubbish that is going on

Salman Khan is known to introduce new talent in the film industry and his latest production Notebook which is releasing next week also launched two newcomers in the lead roles – Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal. Recently he was in a conversation with the press for the promotion of the film and he spoke at length over several topics ranging from his co-stars to taking up direction, from the female attention her gets to his autobiography and much more. When teased about entering the digital medium, Salman said that if he gets into web content, he will make sure it caters to the family audience.

The 53-year-old actor revealed he has been approached for producing content for web, but he turned it down. “Web series is fine but the content should be clean. I don’t like all that rubbish that is going on. I have been approached and I have not said no. I will produce web content but it is going to be Hum Aapke Hain Koun type,” he explained.

When asked if Notebook is inspired by the Thai film The Teacher’s Diary, Salman said, “What’s the Teacher’s diary (laughs). This one is more beautiful than that. We have worked a lot on Notebook. Only the plot is same, apart from that we can’t make a Thai film in Hindi na. The backdrop of love story has been changed. This is set in Kashmir.” Not just that, when quizzed about his inputs in the scripting process the Bharat actor said, “Main kisika zyada credit nahi lena chahunga. Credit lena bhaari pad sakta hai.”

Apart from Notebook, Salman will soon be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar directorial Bharat alongside Katrina Kaif. He also revealed that the trailer of the film, which is scheduled to release on Eid, will be out soon. The film also stars Tabu, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. Besides, Salman is set to collaborate with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after close to two decades. The film is titled Inshallah and it is a love story that features Alia Bhatt as the female lead. It will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi on Eid 2020.
