She is one actress who is always in terrific form. We are talking about Rani Mukerji. She might have been away on an extended break to spend time with her tiny tot, Adira but she is in top form. Everyone who saw the trailer of Hichki was amazed at how supremely Rani managed to portray the role of Naina, a teacher with Tourette’s Syndrome. The film is based on the life of motivational expert and teacher, Brad Cohen who wrote a book Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had. The novel was translated into a TV film.
This is not the first time, the actress is playing the role of a person with physical limitations. She also did it in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black and had everyone raving. Rani has a very interesting take on why she gets films with such themes. The actress also spoke to us about her Hichki as a kid. She had a problem that she had to overcome to become an actress.

Hichki is the story of a teacher who is entrusted with the job of teaching a group of mischievous students in an elite school. The kids come from under-privileged backgrounds and are rebels. They have got admission due to some inclusion programme. Actress Neeraj Kabi of Ship of Theseus fame is also in the film. It is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra who has directed We Are Family.
