Hair Care with Viviscal – Review

A couple of months ago, during the beginning of Spring I had my first introduction to Viviscal. I was invited to the product launch of Viviscal’s Growth Densifying Range which had just been introduced in the market at the time.

As someone who has always had hair which is unfortunately on the thinner side, I was definitely excited to hear about these products with my hopes held high. Could this be an answer to my years of struggle of searching the ever growing hair care market for a product? One which would give me some noticeable volume and bounce so much so that the people around me would comment on it? You will have to scroll along and follow me until the end of this article to hear my answer.

However, before I get into the products offered within this range and what they are suitable for I would like to mention why I waited for quite a few months to write this review. The reason is, I wanted my product review of Viviscal’s Growth Densifying range to be as accurate as possible. So how did I make sure that happened?

Well, hair care is important for me and as I was trying out a complete set of range which did not just include your usual shampoo and conditioner, I wanted to take my time before I created an unbiased opinion on it. Therefore, it was necessary for me to not just use the products for two weeks or even a month but instead over quite a few months until I was finished with the products completely. I thought doing a review after this would be quite effective as I would have had more than enough time to use the products and see the effects on my hair.

Moving onto the actual details about the products offered within this range, I would have to say that they are quite diverse as we have a Shampoo, Conditoner, Elixer as well as Oral Tablets. Upon the first few uses itself I noticed that the shampoo does a good job of cleansing my scalp, despite it being quite light in texture. It also has a botanical scent that is pleasing and not overpowering which I find a lot of the other shampoo’s within the market struggle with as the smell can be at times a bit much.

The conditoner’s formula is weightless which I think is one of the key factor’s in it not making your hair limp. I find that from past experience with various brands, even though
the conditoner is creamy and weighs a bit which helps my hair become soft, it does so at the cost of leaving my hair limp in the end. With Viviscal, upon the first few washes I noticed that my hair was not as limp as it would be upon using other conditioners.

However, the one factor I wish could change would be the texture of my hair after using the said product. While it was great that it did not make my hair limp and instead gave it some
much needed life, I also have to admit that now the texture of the hair, especially at the ends was a bit rough upon wash. Hence, I would say the conditioner in particular has it’s pros and cons. It depends on what is more important for you, some added life and volume or softer hair? If you are someone who has hair on the thinner side, I would suggest the product as for me personally I am okay with the hair not being too smooth but having some life and more volume instead. There are always various after shampoo treatments, oils and sprays which can be used to make your hair appear more smoother as well.

Next, we have the Elixir within this range which is a leave-in treatment post your hair wash and is said to give the hair more body which in turn leaves it appearing thicker. I was pleasantly surprised to find this delivering what it had promised me and hence I would say it is an important part of the range for certain. One to two pumps is all you need, depending on the length and density of your hair and you certainly can see a subtle difference in the volume.

Last but not the least, let’s talk about the oral tablets! I haven’t used them for as long as I have used the other products, but it has still been two months so I can certainly provide some verdict on it. Yay or Nay? It’s a Yay for me! I genuinely believe my hair to be a little more stronger now and less prone to breakage after starting the Viviscal Hair Nourishment tablets. While I cannot confirm that it causes new hair to grow in thinning areas, I can say that it makes the hair look a bit thicker appearance wise. It might not be just the tablet but certainly a result of using the entire range together. However, I would want to try the tablets out for 6 months in all before I make a final decision on continuing it or letting it go.

For those of you who made it all the way to the end, big hugs! Looking at my feedback on each of the individual products in Viviscal’s Growth Densifying Range, I am sure you can already guess that the answer to my question at the beginning would certainly be an YES. Yes, because I have been getting more compliments on my hair compared to ever in my life before. Yes, because it has made me more confident. And Yes, for not just making my hair appear better on the outside but also nourishing it from the inside.

I am already on my second bottle of the shampoo and conditioner which I purchased recently from my local Shopper’s Drug Mart, which is where you can find this range from Viviscal. I hope you all enjoyed reading all the information I had to share today and wish you a Happy Labour Day Weekend from Toronto.
